Crèche Worker
We are recruiting a Crèche Worker and this post is Subject to continued funding by Sure Start/SET Funding
Salary: £18,278 per annum pro rata (£7,904 actual/£9.50 per hour)
Working Hours: 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday mornings. Flexibility is required.
Annual Leave: 25 days per year rising to 30 days per year (pro rata) plus public holidays
Pension: 4% employee contribution and 8% employer contribution
Location: Bangor
Summary of Post
Responsible for the planning and implementation of a childcare programme to meet the emotional, recreational and educational needs of a wide range of children living in the refuge and those attending our Women’s Aid Advice Centre and community settings. To provide a welcoming, safe environment and a high standard of care and support for children in our services.
Main Responsibilities
- Self-help is important in the philosophy of Women’s Aid. Workers will be responsible for promoting the practice of self-help by empowering and supporting mothers in their relationships with their children.
- To provide a welcoming, safe environment for children in the refuge, centre and local community settings.
- To be aware of and effectively respond to the emotional needs of children when they arrive at the refuge and centre and throughout their stay.
- To promptly inform your Line Manager of any concerns regarding the needs of individual children.
- To work with children on an individual or group basis, as appropriate.
- To plan and run creative and stimulating play sessions – to meet the social, emotional and intellectual development of children.
Applicants should have
- Experience of working with children aged under four in childcare setting
- Experience in an early years setting.
- Minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Early Years Childcare or BTEC National Diploma Early Years or
equivalent. - Safeguarding/Child protection certificate.
